Hurricane Frances Affects NYC
Today we in NYC got a small taste of the leftovers of hurricane Frances. The morning commute was heavily delayed and suspended in various areas in NYC due to flash flooding from the remnants of the hurricane. I personally got squashed into over packed slow moving trains. Amazing enough, I was one of the first to the office even though I was running 25 minutes late. One of my co-workers even crossed the bridge into the city on foot in order to get to work. Others waited for a long time until the trains were cleared enough before they could get in. Two hours after the commute just about everyone is here and things seem to be running normally again.
I love days like these. I know many hate when the commute gets messed up but I find it fun. It creates so many interesting stories and dynamics that might not have otherwise occurred. It certainly made for some good conversation at the office.
Well, let's just hope the commute home isn't so bad.
