FireFox Forces Competition From Microsoft

I recently came across the news that Microsoft has announced that it has pushed up Internet Explorer's release of version 7. It was originally supposed to be released along with the next OS release from Microsoft (Longhorn). Not Surprisingly, with FireFox on the scene Microsoft has had to rethink their strategy.

Now I am a big fan of FireFox but I am an even bigger fan of competition. It was competition that brought us Internet Explorer in the first place which at the time was far superior to Netscape. However, since then there has been no competition causing the rate at which IE has advanced to dwindle.

Fortunately, with the release of FireFox the browser wars have been reignited. FireFox has slapped Microsoft in the face and forced them to pay attention to the needs of the web users. This is good for us because competition breeds a superior product for all of us.

Here is an article I read on the subject, I found it interesting and think you will too.

Super Bowl Ad Is Pulled

If you watched the Super Bowl last night you might remember the sexy ad for godaddy.com which featured a girl having a wardrobe malfunction. Today I discovered that this ad was supposed to run a second time during the two-minute warning in the fourth quarter but it was pulled last minute by Fox. I couldn't believe it when I read it. It wasn't even that racy of an ad and it had already aired yet they pulled it from running again due to complaints from the NFL.

Our country sometimes can be quite hypocritical. I mean we claim free speech yet we censor the hell out of everything. It's shameful that with censor so much and it upsets me. Not to mention, most of the ads were all pretty boring because everyone was too scared after last years Super Bowl. Well I have news for you, no one will remember this years and everyone will remember last years for years to come.

Ahh, enough ranting. If you'd like to see the info on this visit the link below. You can also check out the video on the website.

What happened to the 2nd ad?
